Late Summer flowers and flower farm activities
It's Mid August on the farm, and the Dahlias and Half hardy annuals are hitting their stride.
There's plenty available, and lots of activities happening over the next couple of months, so here are some of the highlights that you'll get to see if you visit the farm.
We don't have as many Dahlias as we have in previous years, but we've got some new to us varieties for you to enjoy, and the pick your own customers over the last couple of weeks have gone away with plenty of stems. We gave the a water and weeds today, so that the sunshine next week can get lots of buds flowering.
We've cosmos in Pink, white and Apricotta for you in both the pick your own, and on the field for our weddings and events.
The Zinnias are having the best year ever so far, and we've plenty of bright shades and paler colours too.
The Gladioli have given us 3 weeks of long stems already, and should give us a couple more if the Deer don't eat too many, - Then we'll be enjoying the scented Acidanthera blooms after that.
Our Statice and Helichrysum are producing in abundance, so those that aren't being sold are already being hung for our winter bouquets
Our grasses are starting to flower in abundance, - we love this frosted explosion grass, and we've lots of lovely caramel Setaria.
Plenty of selection for our Autumn bouquets,
